She covers stories across the nation for "Good Morning America," "Nightline," "World News With Diane Sawyer, "20/20," "World News Saturday and Sunday" and ABC's overnight and early morning broadcasts, "World News Now" and "America This Morning."Canning travels the country covering stories that span the serious to the playful. Her recent interview with Charlie Sheen made national headlines and garnered high ratings for a "Special Edition of 20/20." She also has recently covered a diverse set of stories, ranging from the Clark Rockefeller trial in Boston to an interview with the last surviving Munchkin from "The Wizard of Oz" after they received a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
Canning graduated from the University of Western Ontario in London and studied radio and television arts at Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto. She plays competitive tennis and has downhill ski-raced with the Canadian National Ski Academy. She was born in Blue Mountain, Ontario, Canada.Canning is married to Maj. George Anthony Bancroft II, an F-18 fighter pilot with the U.S. Marine Corps. They have a daughter, Anna Katherine Bancroft.
