What I'm Reading Now

E-mail Print
To tell the truth, I've been so wrapped up in finishing Secrets of a Jewish Mother with my mother and sister that I haven't had the inclination to concentrate on anything else, except for my regular reading material.

Besides the NY Times, the Wall Street Journal, the CT Law Tribune, The Stamford Advocate and the Norwalk Hour, what else do I read?  Great news aggregation sites. My favorites? The Drudge Report,  The Daily Beast, and Sciencedaily.com.  The world at your doorstep, or at least a few great portals to get there.

What we do about all this information, assuming we take the time to read it,  now that's a different story entirely.

So, in answer to my own question- what am I reading now? I have a stack of books on my nightstand, and I can't remember one title. I do sudoku for general relaxation and watch The Nanny whenever I can. It gets funnier with every re-run. Yes, I can tell you're shocked to hear this from me.

How about you do me a favor? I've been a little busy lately. Why not you tell me what great books you've read and save me some time? If they are that good, I'll book the author on the show. You can be sure if the author comes on my show, I have read the book.

Which reminds me- I did read  a good book lately. I liked Mika Brzezinski's book a lot.  It's called All Things At Once. Check out her interview with me- she is absolutely charming. I'm a big fan.

So, about that favor... send me an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with a good book suggestion, or just comment here.  I read anything and everything, except graphic violence. Don't ask me why, but I don't find serial killers either relaxing or enjoyable...

Lisa's Favorite Books of 2009

Apparently, I didn’t read much fiction in 2009. Only one novel stood out, Jonathan Tropper’s This is Where I Leave You. Maybe next year will be better- here’s hoping I‘ll have some time for fun and romance. Here are my pics for great books published this year. You can see I’m partial to memoirs.

Lisa's 2008 Book List

E-mail Print

These are my favorite books of 2008. I am not a professional critic, just a devoted amateur. I haven't read all the bestsellers- I can barely find time to read the authors on my show.  Nevertheless,  the books in this list pass the test. The test is whether or not I can remember them a few months after I finished them- and in a good way.  If you are going to buy them, do me a favor and click onto them from this website; I have never earned enough to even qualify for one check from Amazon and I'm trying to break my lucky streak.
